Train.
Report.
Change.
Practical, field-based storytelling training for journalists and communicators who want their work to actually matter.
Storytelling Fellowship?
The EFORO Impact Storytelling Fellowship is a training programme built on a single conviction: journalism that documents problems without documenting solutions is incomplete journalism.
Participants don’t just learn to report. They go into communities with a framework for finding the people who are fixing things — the cooperative that built a water system, the teacher who redesigned the school programme, the farmer who adapted to climate change a decade before the government had a policy for it.
By the end, each fellow has produced at least one publishable impact story, a body of field documentation, and a methodology they can apply for the rest of their career.

How to find the real story in a community project
Learn to ask the questions that get past official talking points to the people actually doing the work.
Shooting and editing on a phone — without it showing
Equipment isn’t the story. Learn to produce professional-quality field content with what you already have in your pocket.
The difference between a story and a report
Facts inform. Stories move people. You’ll learn the structural difference and practise it in real conditions.
Ethical community journalism
Consent, context, power dynamics — what every journalist needs to understand before they point a camera or open a notebook.
How to pitch and publish impact stories
Producing the story is step one. Getting it seen is the rest. We cover pitching to editors and distributing your own work.
Building your story archive
A systematic approach to filing, archiving, and repurposing field documentation so your work compounds over time.
